What is colors pxo?

‘ColorsPxo’ is an event that has been taking place annually in Porto Santo since 2014 and is known for coloring more than 9000 people. The ‘Colors Pxo’ is a reference to the celebration
of life, joy and fun through lots of color, music and dance. The event is known for its “Colorblasts”, which are explosions of color that create a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

‘Colors Pxo’ is inspired by India’s ‘Holi’ festival, a celebration that is known for its exuberance and use of vibrant colors to symbolize joy and unity. This event is a celebration of colors and music that celebrates unity and
joy of living, involving participants in the magic of colors. It is an invitation for everyone to come together, dress in white and prepare to paint and be painted with a thousand colors, on a day full of music, dance, colors and joy.

What is the origin of the name?

The name Colors reflects this essence of joy, unity and renewal, where the colors represent the diversity and beauty of life. Each letter of the word Colors carry a special meaning that reflects the essence of the festival:

  • C: Celebration – It represents the joy and unity of people during the event. It is a time to celebrate life and share happy moments with friends and family.
  • O: Ousadia (Boldness) – The courage to express yourself freely and have fun without restrictions. At Colors, everyone is encouraged to let go of inhibitions and indulge in fun.
  • L: Liberty – The feeling of being free to be who you are and enjoy the moment. The festival provides an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and enjoy the freedom to be authentic.
  • O: Optimism – The positive energy and hope that the event brings to all participants. The vibrant colors and festive atmosphere inspire a feeling of optimism and renewal.

As for ‘Pxo’, it is an abbreviation for Porto Santo, which is an island in the Madeira archipelago, Portugal. Therefore, the name ‘Colors Pxo’ combines the idea of ​​a colorful festival with the geographical location of the event, creating a unique identity that reflects both the spirit of the festival and its location.

What is the meaning of Colors?

Red: Represents divine love, purity and renewal.
Blue: Symbolizes tranquility and divine protection.
Yellow: Represents knowledge, joy and positivity.
Green: It is associated with harmony and nature.
Pink: Expresses love, affection and beauty.

 

In the Holi festival, and by extension the ‘ColorsPxo’, each color has a special meaning. How do the colors associated with Holi relate to the ‘ColorsPxo’:

Red

In Holi, red represents divine love, purity and renewal. In ‘ColorsPxo’, we can imagine an explosion of red symbolizing the passion and energy of the event.
Blue

Blue in Holi symbolizes tranquility and divine protection. In ‘ColorsPxo’ We incorporate blue elements that represent the harmony and feeling of security that the event provides.
Yellow

Yellow is associated with knowledge, joy and positivity during Holi. At ‘ColorsPxo’, we use shades of yellow to convey the infectious joy of the festival.

What to expect?

In ‘ColorsPxo’, your program consists of:
– Colorblasts – Colored Powder Explosions: Get ready to be enveloped in a shower of colors! Colored powder (gulal) is thrown into the air, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
– Colorful AquaBlast: Get ready to shoot colored water at each other with the guns loaded into the various tubes.
– Music, Dances and Surprises are also part of this unforgettable day.

What kind of music can you listen to on Colors Pxo?

At ColorsPxo you only listen to TOP music. You will hear the greatest hits of the moment.

What's the lineup?

What is the age rating?

The classification is M/6. In accordance with current legislation, children under 6 years of age can attend if accompanied by their parents, with the signature of a liability waiver provided by the organization at the entrance of the event.

The organization advises that all minors are accompanied by a responsible adult.

Where can I get Gulal (color powder)?

On the day of the event, at the entrance to the venue you will receive 1 bag of colored powder (Gulal).

Observations:

– Children under 3 years of age do not pay entry and will not receive the free bag of colored powder (Gulal).

– Those who purchase the bracelet on the day of the event are not entitled to the colored powder (Gulal) offer.

 

Can I bring my own colored powder?

To ensure everyone’s safety, it is not permitted to bring colored powder (Gulal) from abroad.

As the environment and everyone’s health is very important to us, we only accept colored powder (Gulal) purchased inside the venue.

 

Can I buy more Gulal (color powder) inside the event?

Yes.

Do the colors fade with washing?

Yes, generally colored powder (Gulal) disappears easily after washing. However we suggest used clothing. The organization is not responsible for any permanent damage.

Are colors dangerous to health?

No. The colored powder (Gulal) consists of corn starch and organic dye. However, it is recommended to use a scarf or mask for those who have respiratory problems. We also suggest the use of sunglasses or prescription glasses and that you avoid wearing contact lenses.

What clothes/shoes should you wear?

It is recommended to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers.

Wear white clothes to make the colors stand out and that can be painted with colored paints.

Bring a change of clothes or a towel so you don’t get your car or other means of transport dirty.

What other precautions should I take?

Put on sunscreen and wear a hat and sunglasses. Drink plenty of water.

Can I bring a camera/mobile phone?

Yes. However, as the colored powder is very fine, it can get into the machine or cell phone. We suggest that you protect your equipment. The organization is not responsible for damage to the materials, caused by the public or by colored powder (Gulal), and the owner is fully responsible for having protection and insurance on the material used. You can take the Gopro/monopod accessories.

Can my image and audio be used by the organization of the event?

The holder of the bracelet declares to expressly accept that his image and audio may be captured and recorded during the event, so he gives, from now on, free of charge and definitively, to the promoters of the event, all the image and audio rights that own it for all purposes.

When does Colors Pxo start and when are the colors launched?

Colors Pxo starts at 3:00 PM. Doors open at 3pm. The color explosions take place every 50 minutes.

What time does the Colors Pxo event end?

Colors Pxo ends at 8pm.

Can I leave and re-enter the premises?

Yes. As long as you have the bracelet on your wrist.

Is there food and drink during the event?

Yes, we will have a food court. It is not allowed to bring food or beverages.

Can I take a backpack?

Yes. But we recommend taking as little as possible. Preferably, take only your identification and the necessary money. It is more practical and safer.

Is there a cloakroom?

There is a cloakroom on the ColorsPxo premises (€5). But Avoid taking a backpack and valuables.

Can the event date be changed?

The organization reserves the right to change, at any time, without prior notice or any other condition, the date of ColorsPxo, as well as the dates of events that may be announced, especially due to force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances.

What happens if the event date is changed?

If the event date is changed: brought forward or postponed for any reason, your Wristband will be valid for the final date.

What happens if the event is cancelled?

In case of cancellation of the event, the value of the Bracelet valid for that date will be returned to the bearer, except as provided: value of the bracelet will not be refunded if there is any interruption to the event and/or replacement of the ColorsPxo poster/programming, resulting from the event. of a situation of an extraordinary or unpredictable nature, beyond the control of the organizers.

What can't I bring to Colors Pxo?

The wristband holder will not be able to enter the event venue with food/drinks or objects that pose security risks (bottles, cans, helmets, animals, firearms or other objects that could be considered dangerous).

Who cannot enter the ColorsPxo location?

People who do not have a bracelet on their wrist will not be accepted into the ColorsPxo venue.

No person who demonstrates violent, aggressive behavior, contrary to public order or who refuses to get rid of unauthorized or unauthorized objects will not be accepted into the ColorsPxo premises.

Note: The holder must agree to submit to inspections, body searches and removal of unauthorized objects upon entry to the event.

Are there refunds available?

If the event is held as announced, we cannot provide refunds. The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible. Please make sure you can attend before purchasing the wristband. If for any reason you can’t participate, at least come to the venue and say HELLO to us!
